Amazing build quality, quiet enough. The automatic settings are nice.

I wish I'd had this for my old receiver

Posted by Schwing on Aug 25th 2020

My old receiver died because the brand that it belonged to had that dreaded DtS chip failure. Basically, it got so hot that the solder points on the DTS chip break free. Making a long story short, I replaced my receiver with a much higher quality unit that cost quite a bit more as well. I tacked this on just to see if it made any difference... It does.

Without the fan, my new receiver runs at about 90 degrees at the top of the enclosure. With the fan on it, it never runs more than a couple of degrees above room temperature. The fan comes on and off to the settings I give it and, even at the highest speed, it barely makes any noise. At the middle speed, I frankly can't hear it at all.

I debated getting the bigger unit but rolled the dice on this one and have been glad that I did. Unless you are running something that puts off a ton of heat, this one will do the trick nicely.
