Perfect for guitar pedals in a studio setting

Posted by Unknown on Jul 31st 2021

I saw these on Amazon and went looking for the original vendor to save a bit of money. If that brought you here, you're in the right place- the website may look a little sketchy, but this is for real.

I bought a few of these to hold guitar pedals in a rackmount cab for music gear. I think this shelf makes sense for a static setting like a studio. It's a little too cheap/spartan for touring situations where the rack unit has a chance of being knocked around.

Generally you can fit two rows of 3 to 4 pedals each, depending on shape and where the jacks are located.
If you're looking to have any space to adjust knobs without effort, you'll want to leave 1U empty directly above the shelf.
If you install them flush, some taller/oblong pedals may not fit inside. Also expect to need to either pull a pedal out the front a bit to see what you're doing, fish your hand in (it's a tight fit unless you have dainty hands) to turn knobs without looking, or to spin your cab around to get at stuff from the back.

The fact that these are not squared off at the rear makes them handy for cable overhang as well. I plug all my pedals into a patchbay, so the fact that these taper off at the rear and don't have sharp edges allowed me to tuck relatively soft patch cables around the back of the shelves.

    This rack is excellent.

This rack is excellent. Every piece comes individually wrapped in bubble-wrap. The quality of the pieces is outstanding and it is very easy to assemble. The unit has very good markings on the posts and the bolts hold the unit together very well. The coasters are made out of rubber and make for smooth rolling.

Very sturdy and well machined. The holes matched to my relay rack and the shelf was well made. The powder coating was excellent, no defects at all.

    Stong Shelf

I bought 3 of these to go in my Gator Box Pro cases for Amateur Radio. They fit exactly as expected and are strong enough to hold all of the equipment placed on them. I have another radio to also put in a Gator Box Pro, and I expect to buy some more of these shelves.
