A computer rack is generally used for devices that are placed horizontally. It is commonly available in 19-inch and 23-inch rack sizes. Each rack unit is 1.75 inches wide and servers or devices can be easily placed on them.
Computer racks can help you in the following ways:
1. Protect the Hardware: Computer rack is obviously used to store PCs that will protect the hardware. It is a risk to keep your devices at a lower position, as there’s always a case of knocking over and spilling liquid on it.
2. Proper Air Flow: This server racks will help to have proper airflow between the devices, which helps in cooling and maintaining the optimum temperature of the data center. When a device is kept on a normal desk instead of a server rack, the fans get pushed against the wall and are blocked. This lessens the cap[acity of cooling of the devices.
3. Organized Workspace: Computers when kept on desks often become disorganized. But with computer racks, you can organize the devices within the servers neatly. Plus, the cords coming out of the devices that usually remain tangled or spread out will be tied up neatly too.
4. Good Power Management: When multiple PCs are kept in one rack, it has been seen that the problem of supplying powers to each device is solved. Server rack has power running through them, which prevents the devices kept within the rack from going down.
5. Cleaner Environment: Keeping the equipment on the server rack helps in cleaning the environment. By doing so, you will create a barrier of protection, i.e., protecting the computers from dust and damages.
