Network technicians popularly use this term and they usually use it to define the assembly of varied computer hardware within a system, rack, or a computer cabinet. Rack and stack mean the assembly of different computer systems is configured efficiently. The term was initially used by the military, where they used it to say prioritize. Racking and stacking your server racks helps to use floor space of the data center effectively. However, there are several things to be considered before embarking a rack. Different options available for rack servers are 2u wall mount racks and 6u wall mount rack.

Rack Integration

Rack Integration is the process by which equipment is tested, mounted, and programmed most logically in the server rack. This is done by opting for rack integration services or by the team owned by network cabinets. Rack Integration Services are very famous that equip and test different server racks for efficiency. You will be sent a fully integrated rack to your center even if you want a 6u wall mount rack, and the setup is done by the team of rack integration service providers.

No matter if you rack and stack all by yourself or choose integration services. There are a few things that should be considered. Let us know some factors that are to be considered necessary.

Things to consider for successful rack integration

Rack height - Taller racks are less stable, and the height is essential while a rack is stacked. There were cases when the rack was palletized because it was taller than the height of the truck as well.

Load/Weight Capacity - An essential factor in choosing the right rack. Racks are integrated entirely before they are being set up. Hence, it is essential that the rack should have a dynamic weight capacity. It ensures that there is ample space to secure equipment when the rack is moving.

Rack Mount Equipment - During rack and stack, you can easily incorporate almost any equipment in the server racks. It includes servers, cables, network equipment, etc. Hence, there is no need for wall mounts, even if it is a 2u mount rack. Moreover, the total weight of all equipment loaded should not exceed the dynamic load capacity of the rack.
