If you are looking for server racks for your data centers, it’s really important to understand the needs of your data center. There are multiple server racks available in the market. Now, to choose among all these server racks, you need to be well aware of all the features of the racks. The server racks will be the cabinets, where you will be storing your precious servers, which are essential to carry out your business proceedings.
Standard Dimension of Server Racks:
The server racks that are used in the data center have very specific dimensions based on their unit of measurement, i.e., a rack unit, which is denoted by U or RU. A rack unit is equal to 1 and 3/4 inches. Even the dimension of the equipment kept in the server rack is measured in rack units.
Depending on the dimension of your servers, you have to choose a server rack. Usually, the server rack is 19 inches wide with adjustable depths, so that you can adjust the depth of the racks. There are many server racks of different dimensions like 2U, 4U, 6U, 12U, 15U, 42U, etc. You have to select your server rack among all these, so the servers fit into the rack and also have enough space to breathe, i.e., let the heat out.
The Needs of the Data Center:
You must be very clear from the start of the space you have in your data center. Depending on that, you will select the server rack, i.e., if you need a wall mount cabinet or an open-frame rack will be enough for the servers. If you have limited space, you can go for the wall mount racks from the vast collection of Raising Racks. Or if you have a big room to use as a data center, choose the open frame racks from the collections.
